Kia Sorento safety recalls for a 2004 Kia Sorento

Kia Sorento Safety Recalls

I recently purchased a used 2004 Kia Sorento and have had several problems with it. On repairpal.com there is a recall listed for a crankshaft pulley bolt. The NHTSA # listed is 10022518. However on NHTSA.com this # is associated with a Century brand car seat. ??? How do I find out if there was/is a recall for the crankshaft pulley bolt? What all would the recall cover…just the fixing of the problem or would it pay for the tow as my vehicle won’t start?

Stylin’ Trucks – Serious gear for truck enthusiasts

You will find lots of problems with the Kia Sorento but it seems to be to a few of the makes and models but not all of them.  Lemonshopper.com has read about several complaints from Kia Sorento owners and they seem to have a few minor problems.  I think the cost of the car and how it is manufactured may be the cause of the complaints but also the owners don’t seem to understand that you get what you pay for when it comes to buying a car.  Lemon auto’s and lemon trucks are out there and you have to do your research online before you buy the car to help avoid problems with certain makes and models.

The Kia Sorrento has had its problems just like the rest of the cars so make sure you do your research when buying a Kia Sorrento and avoid costly repairs by avoiding the lemons that are reported online.

Kia Soul Car Is A California Lemon?

Kia Soul Lemon Or Not

Lemonshopper.com is always on the search for automobiles that are considered lemons and there seems to be lots of them out in the market today.  A definition of a lemon is simply a car that isn’t worth the steel it is made of and has inherent problems that many owners experience.  The lemonshopper.com gets reports on all types of car lemons and truck lemons across the internet and if you have a lemon car that you have purchased, feel free to join our site and post your own lemon auto story.  Here is a story about the Kia Soul that a consumer leased and take a look at what they have experienced with it.

Stylin’ Trucks – Serious gear for truck enthusiasts

Alright, so here is what happend:

April 20th, I get my new Kia Soul lease.

August – I drove about 2,800 miles. I get an oil change at an AUTHORIZED KIA dealer before heading out to Los Angeles the next day. Also, the dealer checks for tire pressure and air and tire rotation.

On my trip to Los Angeles, I notice the LOW TIRE PRESSURE light turning on when I was near the Grapevine, why would that turn on when I just got it fixed? The car didn’t have a flat or anything ran over.

Then on the way back, I have had the ESC light turn on and stay on, and the manual says this and I quote, “If this indicator illuminates and stays on, the ESC may have malfunctioned *could this threaten my safety?*.”

And 2 weeks ago, I had the Low Tire Pressure turn on once again and the ESC light was on as well.

I called the KIA number and they are so ignorant, she told me she has no clue and she is telling me the same stuff as the book. And she told me that if I take my car into the dealer, and they see its just the car mis-reading the sensor, then I would STILL have to pay for a diagnostics test.

What can I do?! Is my car a lemon?! And who do I talk to about a lemon?! THANKS!

2007 Kia Optima EX V6 Runs

Just a few jaunts, I had the dog with me so i couldn’t be too ruff. Yeah, that was a bad one… Drivetrain: 14000 Miles, 2.7 Liter Hyundai Mu V6 (G6BA Delta [Tiburon] Variant) TBW (Throttle By Wire, Electronic Throttle Control) CVVT @ 4500 (Continuosly Variable Valve Timing), VIRLS @ 4000 RPM (Variable Intake Runner Length System), Ram Air. TCS, ESC, A/C on, even though the A/C will go off anyway at WOT… 5 Speed Semi-Automatic Transmission, FWD, Sport Mode (from here on is guessing from experience) Non-Synchronous, Constant Mesh Gearing (Listen to the shifting). Sounds like an Aisin because of the “shift flare”.

2010 Toyota Prius Lease a Good Value (when you factor in gas saving)?

I am looking to lease a car. (I know leasing is not a good value etc…). I am just out of school and can’t afford much. I was looking into getting a Kia Soul because it was cheap and safe. However, after seeing the Toyota commercials I decided to look and see what type of specials they were running. Right now you can get a 3 year lease for $209!

I started to crunch the gas number a little I concluded that if I drive 1000 a month with gas at $3.07 I would save $67.72 a month in gas. Applying that saving to the lease brings the monthly lease down to 161.28 (only $11.28 more than the Kia a month) and clearly the Prius is a must better and more substantial car. Additionally, if I did get the Kia I would end up paying more for gas bringing the monthly cost of driving the kia to $217.72.

Now I know that everyone says the hybrid premium doesn’t pay and you don’t recoup the premium until 3,4 or 5 years. But based on my math, for 11.28 extra a month I can drive a Prius instead of a kia soul. **Also my math is based on $3.07 a gallon (I live in So. Cal and it is already higher than that, the higher gas goes the more I save)**

So I guess my question is (1) assuming my math is correct wouldn’t it be smarter to get the Prius (2) Am I wrong? The money is going to come out of my pocket one way or another, shouldn’t it be on the car rather than the gas?

Has anyone ever had problems with the fuel system for a 1999 kia sephia?

When ever I go to crank the car after it has been sitting for a while it cuts right back off, but after it has been running for a while it cranks right up if I turn off the car. I changed the fuel pump (which cost $350) and it wasn’t the problem. I also changed the fuel purge valve and that didn’t work. I’m beginning to run out of options. Does anyone have an idea of what this problem might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
