Now we normally dont think with Banks as lemons but in this case, First Convenience Bank of Texas has to be one of the lemons of the year when it comes to banking in Texas.  My problem with First Convenience Bank Texas began when someone had gotten a hold of my debit card information and basically proceeded to make unauthorized charges on my account.  Once I notified First Convenience Bank of Texas that this had occurred, they acted as if I was pulling a scam on them and it was up to me to prove that the charges were done by someone else.  I called their customer service center in Houston Texas and talked to someone and they said that the charge was for $400 and something and that it was done online. 

They gave me a number to call the merchant who the charge was made with and the number they gave me was wrong so i had to go online and do the research myself.  After finding the name on line, I was able to finally talk to someone to see what could be done to find out who had made the fraudulent charge.  All the time First Convenience Bank Texas was doing nothing to discover if the charge was fraudulent and they were more concerned with making sure that I got hit with all of the overdraft fees that were coming through because of this charge.  After spending a whole afternoon gathering all of the information on the fraudulent activity on my First Convenience Bank Card, I then was told to fax the information to them in Houston.  I went to my local branch and gave them the information that I had from the merchant and asked them to fax it to the customer resolution center in Houston Texas and they said OK. 

They told me it was faxed and I said great and walked out of the door thinking that the problem would be fixed in a matter of a few days.   Keep in mind that all of my money is tied up in the First Convenience bank account and I don’t have any way to access my funds and all money that was being deposited into my account was being devoured by their $34.97 bank fees which were hitting left and right as automatic drafts and other bills that i pay were coming through. 

The next day I call into their not so helpful First Convenience Bank customer disservice center and they tell me that they never got the fax that was sent from the branch.   So I have to go and find a fax machine and fax it to them myself and I get that part of it done.  After a few days I follow up to see if they have recieved my information and they said yes they did but no one told be that i needed to go into a First Convenience Bank branch and fill out a form stating that I did not make the charge.  So i go to the local First Convenience Bank Branch in Dallas and get the form from the branch manager and then i fill it out thinking that this will get the unauthorized charge removed from my account. 

Now during this whole time, not one person has called me from First Convenience Bank to find out my side of what happened and neither do they care since the fee’s are racking up everyday.  So I call in again to the First Convenience Bank disservice center and ask about my case and they tell me that the person who is handling my case is not available, and can’t come to the phone.  Now it’s been 7 days since the incident occurred and now they tell me that it will take 2 weeks for their investigators to determine if I did fraud on my own freaking debit card.   After providing all the information they asked for and finding out who the person was who used my card, what time of date they used it, and what company they used it on, they have the nerve to tell me it will take 2 weeks to investigate my claim.   Here is the killer, all my money is tied up with First Convenience Bank and I can’t do anything to stop charges from coming through and I will not be able to withdraw any money from my account for 3 weeks.

If you are thinking about opening a bank account at First Convenience Bank of Texas, don’t do it.  They don’t give a hoot about their customers and are only concerned about making sure that your account stays overdrawn so they can keep charging fee after fee to make your life miserable.  DO NOT OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT WITH FIRST CONVENIENCE BANK OF TEXAS!

Once again there is another recall for Ford and this time it is for the Ford Mini Vans and have been selected from certain areas of the country based on certain weather conditions.  Ford has been experiencing excellent sales and returning customers and this Recall for the Ford should go fairly smoooth.  Ford recalls are not new and even though Ford has improved the quality of its cars and trucks and vans, they are showing that they are willing to step up to the plate for its customers and let them know that their is a problem with the Ford Mini vans.

Ford Motor Co is recalling about 525,000 older model Windstar minivans in cold-weather areas because corrosion could cause a separation of parts under the vans that might reduce steering control, company and federal government officials said on Wednesday.

About 425,000 of the Windstars are registered in the United States, about 100,000 in Canada, and fewer than 750 in other countries, Ford said.

Ford said it is aware of seven reported accidents with five minor injuries in which drivers claim the corrosion-related issue was a contributing factor.

Model year 1999 to 2003 Windstar minivans are affected.
